A brilliant video of the Oxford and Cambridge Goat Race 2013, with the added bonus at the end of the Goat-e-oke championship winning performance…
Rolling in it!
The Shoat Race
Every great event needs a great warm-up event. Enter the shoats…!
Still got it
Some might have questioned Barney Goat’s wisdom as he stepped back onto the racetrack after 4 years away.
Was he too old? Did he still have it? Could he see Bella Goat’s challenge and raise it?
But really, was there even any doubt?!
It was a vintage performance in the end, as Barney rolled back the years, and charged to an emphatic victory that will live long in the memory. In just 79 seconds, he etched his name onto a list of legends who’ve all been there, done it, and done it again.
George Foreman, Michael Jordan, Lester Piggot, Kim Clijsters, Barney Goat.
It was an honour to witness, and an honour to be part of. A reminder to all of Team Goat Race of why we do this.
But this isn’t about us.
It’s about two goats.
It’s about a wonderful farm.
It’s about the incredible people who work at the farm.
It’s about the mind-bogglingly brilliant volunteers who make this what it is.
And it’s about you. A glorious, smiling crowd who we can’t wait to see again next year, and who helped raise so much cash we’ll probably still be counting it this time next week. (Watch this space).
Thank you.

2012 Goat Race Results
Wow, another amazing year for the Goat Race. Not least of all for Bramble the Golden Guernsey, representing Cambridge, who romped home in a leisurely 1 minute 26 seconds to make it the 4th year in row that Cambridge have won the Goat Race.

Thanks to all 1,700 (!) of you who came to enjoy yourselves, the farm was stretched to capacity again and sorry to those who couldn’t get in on the day. From ticket sales, your bets at Billy Hill the bookie and donations from stallholders and brands, we managed to raise over £8,000 for the farm. This much needed money all goes to food and vet bills for the animals for the year.
Our official snaps and video are coming soon but in the meantime pictures are emerging on Facebook.com/thegoatrace and here is a short video from a fan:

2011 Hat-Trick for Cambridge

Friends! Thank you so much for making The Goat Race yet another triumph for both sport and puns! Cambridge won for the third year running in a world record time of 56.9 seconds – though Oxford wasn’t far behind (despite slowing down to do a poo on the first bend of the race). But in brighter news for Oxford, the stoats did the dark blues proud in the inaugural Oxford & Cambridge Stoat Race! We’re still counting how many thousands of pounds you’ve helped raise for the farm (it’s like Scrooge McDuck’s vault here!) – but you’ll be the first to know once we’re finished!
